Kindgom Hearts 3 on the Wii?
So now there’s a rumor floating around that Square-Enix is working on Kingdom Hearts 3 for the Wii. Here’s my take.
Square-Enix has jumped on the Wii bandwagon and does have a healthy relationship with Nintendo as of recent years. With both of their largest properties, Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, being brought to the Wii this
year and both with multiple titles on the Nintendo DS and Gameboy systems, why not bring what is probably their third largest property to the system as well? I know the game is not fully geared toward kids, but it also would make sense to put it on a less hardcore system that falls into the price range a kid could feasibly obtain.
Here’s an interesting quote from Nomura about future Kingdom Hearts installments,”It’s difficult to explain it. I’m thinking about how to talk about it [without giving things away], which means that there will be some twists to it. Up until now, the series followed along a [straight] time line, going from Kingdom Hearts to Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II. But the idea I have right now doesn’t follow that flow,” Nomura told Famitsu.com. “However, as long as it inherits the Kingdom Hearts title, it needs to have some connection [to previous installments] in terms of storyline, so it won’t be too distant from the other titles. In any case, this is still at a conceptual phase, where I’m thinking about what I want to do.”
We won’t know what’s going on with this one until Tetsuya Nomura reveals some details, which he has stated will happen Mid-2007. The only thing he has said is that there are multiple Kingdom Hearts projects in the works at the moment, so maybe if we don’t get Kingdom Hearts 3, it seems likely that we’d get a spinoff, and that’d be cool too.
Another nail in Sony’s coffin, it isn’t looking at all good for them.
But for us Wii fans this is awesome news!

Sony did a poor job on the PS3. It took them forever to release it, and even now they had PS3’s sitting on the shelf.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will end up on the Wii due to the fact that Nintendo, Disney, and SQUARE-ENIX have a bond together. We have to assume that KH3 is going to popular. I personally own a Wii, and with it’s controls, KH3 would be perfect. I mean, look at Super Smash Bros Brawl. They said that the characters must be featured on at least one nintendo system. So if sora is going to be on SSBB, that won’t be last time we see him…. And since Wii is the best system KH3 would be welcome to the Wii. Now…. we just have to wait for the game to come out.

I think kh3 on the wii would be amazing. compared ot teh ps3 six axis motion you could accutally swing the wii mote as your keyblade and this by far would add the the game and make it mroe amazing then it already is plus i agree that nintendo disney and square-enix have had a strong bond so why wouldnt it be on the wii. also with the wii being the top ranked system of the year pretty much it would be agood idea in square-enix’s part to add it to the wii’s game least
Disney invested in the Blue-Ray association so it wants to support the PS3 more than the Wii and is closer to Sony, SE dislikes Nintendo because Nintendo back stabbed them awhile back and Sony supported them and gave them money. And they talked about KH3 with Nomura in a Playstation Magazine so that means it will end up on the PS3 not the Wii even thought I like the Wii more.
They shouldnt put it on wii! There are tons of of fans who have ps2! Adn want it to come out for that. If it comes out on wii there will be so amny diapointed fans!
PS3are not good and have meltdowns quick. Wiis are so much better. Sences Wiis have better graghics and more people want them. In this case more people will buy Kingdom Hearts 3and you will make more bissness and money.
Are you craxy Sabrina, Wii is extremely weak, horrible graphics, Miyamoto (Creator of Nintendo and Wii) himself said that it had the same hardware as the gamecube, PS3 and the 360 are way way way way more powerful and has better graphics which means KH3 can be longer have larger worlds, etc… on the PS3/360. Why do you think the Wii can’t support Oblivion, because the Wii is to weak and can’t hold a game that large with so much stuff, and can’t get even close to supporting those graphics.
Hey, wii might be weak, but it is a lot of fun tho. It is a more like a party machine that can be enjoyed all age.

Noooooo! I’m an adoring fan of this series and for them to put it on the wii or the ps3 would crush me in my wallet! I rather it stayed on the ps2 and for it the follow through the way it has, starting from after kairi brought the letter from the king to riku and sora. No flashbacks that take up the whole game, no different time periods, and Sora HAS TO BE IN IT! Its based on him mostly anyways right? Sorry, don’t mind my rant, I really want there to be a part 3 but on a system i alredy have or one that I can afford.

0_o That is messed up. It will, or should be for PS3. If you’ve seen the graphics, it is quite obvious it will be on PS3. The Wii cannot support the high graphic contents. I got my own PS3 JUST for KH3! So I’m pretty sure it’ll be on PS3. And really, how stupid would it be for the Wii? I don’t think the game play would work. And of course Square Enix will utulize the PS3 to it’s max.

The game play won’t suck on the Wii, a friend of mine and I have looked at this.
We translated all the buttons of the PS2 onto the Wii, and we think that our version of KH2 on the wiimote would actually be more comfortable than on the PS2’s controller.
Every action fits well onto the wiimote pretty much.
And regarding Max’s comment, multiplayers would be very easy. It could follow the same route Tales of Symphonia took with the multiplayer settings for the separate characters.
Also, alot of people are complaining about the poor graphics, but Wii graphics are better than PS2 graphics, so I really doubt that there will be any dissapointment there either. If the gameplay is good enough, the graphics won’t get in the way. And I think we all know how good the gameplay is.
But we have to take sales into consideration; SE is also thinking about their money. Considering how badly the PS3’s sales have been, they probably realise that it would be unwise to release their 3rd best game on it. Although, they wouldn’t totally abandon Sony, or fully back up Nintendo either. They will most likely make KH3 a multiplatform game.
All in all, I can really see KH3 on the Wii.

Stop being idiots, they’re not going to put it on the PS2. It’s all about next gen now, God of War 2 was probably the last good game for the PS2. But if I had the money to get a PS3, I’d get a Wii and 360 instead. PS3’s online system sucks compared to XLive, and the only good titles I see coming out for it are MGS4 and FFXIII.
If it does come to the Wii, I’d probably buy it. If it doesn’t, I won’t lose sleep over it since it will still get SSBB, the next true Wii Zelda title, Metroid and Mario.

If the wii can support Twilight Princess, I don’t see why it would be too week for KH3. It’s mostly wishfull thinking that is so strong that people tend to believe it, but i’m sure sony will fight against releasing it on the wii. Nintendo is, however, expanding their horizons and letting more companies in their Mafia of vidoegame-world domination! everyone is realizing that fun-factor is way more important than good graphics. And Nintendo Knows All About Fun-Factor. only reason i own a PS2 is for KH1 & KH2, and i’m a hardcore nintendo fan. if it’s only released on the PS3, people like me (with a job) won’t think twice about getting a PS3 just for KH3. As much as i’d love it to be on the wii, it’s possible, but not probable.
The ps3 is doing HORRIBLE in Japan. The Wii is outsellingit 5 to 1 some weekes its 7 or 8 to 1. The ps2 is outselling the ps3 in all territories. If the game is to come out in the near future i’d expect it to hit either the ps2 the wii or both.

To clear things up for some er… confused people. The guy in the trailer is not Sora. He is a chaser, along with the other 2 unknowns in armor. The entire game is more of a story of Xehanort’s and kingdom hearts’ past. But since it carries the name kingdom hearts, has elements involving disney, sora, riku, etc. How do I know this? Tetsuya Nomura (the director to the kingdom hearts franchise) said so himself.
Also it being on the ps2 is improbable if not impossible because the ps2 is last gen. Which major video game companies have no interest in. The only time you see a new ps2 game is when it’s developed by a minor american gaming company that has no influence in any game in the one place where all great video games originate: Japan.
It being on the wii is quite possible especially with all the new games square enix and disney is releasing for nintendo and the slow decline in new square and disney games for sony. Plus ps3 is walking time bomb for sony. Mainly because:
1. They lose about 100$ for every model made. This is because they thought they’d have a very good start so they decided to make it cheaper then it could’ve been. That’s right, it could’ve been even MORE expensive.
2. All of they’re former supporters(video game designing companies) or starting to abandon ship because of the low success rate that the ps3 has.
But even with all of this, kh3 might still come out for ps3 because of the fanbase that’s already there. It’s sad but it’s the truth. All we can do is just hope that it would be for the wii or at least be multiplatform. *crosses fingers*

I saw some video clip on xplay today and it was about a ps3 game. it is coming out in a few months and in the trailer it had multiple break downs. you can tell its gonna be on the wii because disney and SE have been becoming more friendly with nintendo. If you go to the store ps3’s are stacked up because nobody buy’s them. But they never have wii.

the only reason nintendo made wii was because they wanted a new type of system.one that doesn’t leave kids sitting in all day pushing buttons. one that lets them move around, thus wii was born. kh has multiple battles in one area, not 1 or 2 enemies more like 10-15. so the kh3 for the wii would 1: get fat kids in shape

The ps2 is probably not going to get KH3, it’s probably going to be the PS3, Wii or Xbox360. Mainly because they’re next gen. To magic: The Wii doesn’t need a memory card and you can probably by 2 wiis for the price of one ps3. And there is always a chance for KH to switch systems. Anyone remember KH:CoM? the only reason KH wasn’t on gamecube was because it had to much data for a gamecube disc. Now that the Wii discs have as much memory as a dvd it is definitely possible for KH to be on the Wii.
And to austin, the only reason it’s been on the PS2 for 5 years was because the ps2 was the only system at the time that was able to support the game. Now it’s completely different. The wii discs have enough space and so do the Xbox discs.
And finally whoever had a ps2 are either thinking about or have a wii (exept for sony diehards). Seriously speaking though, Sony is basically hanging off a cliff with 1 finger, about to fall at any moment.
Also to that comment about the wii blowing up on you, are you sure that wasn’t you’re 360
Having both systems, I think the Wii is far inferior to PS3 in many ways.
I would buy the game on either system.
But if it’s on the Wii, I’ll be disappointed.
Wii is fun for party games and Nintendo made games.

EGM magazine said that Mushroom Kingdom Heartz would come out on August 1, 2008. Many people disagree. Last year they pulled out an April fools joke……. no one knows if this is one. I’m keeping my hopes up. …………. Besides the point, I think it would be cool if KH3 was on wii, but lets face it, disney wants it to look good, and if that is true they are gonna put it on the PS3 no matter what the game play is like! I still wish it was true , if anyone wants to share facts that would be cool, too(PS3 is just too much $)!

I think it’s a great idea that KH3 will be on wii, i mean i may not have a wii but i can get one for x-mas or something. But ppl shouldn’t complain about it i mean it’s an awsome idea. OK Wii has better sellings than PS3. It’s living on the shelves of last year. No person wants one. Yeah if it comes to PS3 in the US about 1/3 of the US will go out and get a PS3. I am a KH fan,and a proud owner of a ps2, Sp, and Wii. I believe they will put KH3 on one of the newer systems cuz KH2 was supposedly “one of the PS2’s final new sells” But personally I hope they make the same game for all the systems cuz then everyone can know how great the KH games are. But the fate of Kingdom Hearts 3 rests with its creators. All we can do is hope.
Think about it this way; which of the newest consoles costs the largest amount of ca$h? Answer: PS3. What kind of people is KH made for? Answer: people of ALL AGES! I think Square-enix should consider making it for the cheapest console, Wii, cause I´m 100% sure it would sell good enough. And even though Wii doesn`t have the best graphics, I don´t think the KH series is about graphics, cause they made it on the GBA which has LOOOOOW graphics compared to the PS2. But personally I would love to have KH3 on the Wii, cause I´m not gonna buy PS3 anytime soon.

i cant wait till the KH3 is announced on wii, thats if it will be. im a big fan of the other installments and now i’ve been brought into the Nintendo gamers industry by my friend. cant wait!

Ok. Now, I was also extremely excited about Kingdom Hearts 3 for the Wii, but honestly! A guy up the list of posts here said that Final Fantasy games have been made for the Wii. That’s a huge lie! What would cause anyone to ever think that it would be made for the Wii?! Sony is the one that made KH and will continue to do so–not Nintendo. Don’t think that I’m not disappointed, too. Sorry, guys. It won’t happen.

1) I was wrong about Sora bing features in SSBB. And I’m sorry to those I was so sure of this.
2) KH3, may be for the Wii, I doubt it, I had good hope, but not anymore.
3) Seeing KH3 would be amazing.
I personally believe that KH3 would make a fine edition to my game collection, However, there is something we are not thinking of, I personally think I’ve figured out the story linem But I do not want to post it on here, So if you would like to know, here’s my myspace.

Lol people are still at it huh? Yeah it’s doubtful that KH3 will be on the wii, there’s a chance but it’s still doubtful, all us nintendo fans can be happy about Kh 359/2 days for the DS which is the first multyplayer game in the KH franchise. It also features the back story of Organization XIII.
But you can always hope right?
If the Wii could hold ‘The Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess’ and ‘Super Smash bros Brawl’ then they should at least be able to hold it on the Wii. Plus I’ve been trying to get a Wii forever, but sadly none, but i did notice a HECK of a lot of PS3’s, Im just saying, it would be a smart idea to put ‘Kingdom Hearts 3′ on Wii. Anyone agree?

This one is “Realm of the Dissouled” while the one I’ve been looking for is “Keyblade Wars.” They even have a spelling error on the back! Sorry. My grammar freak self is coming out now. You know I was thinking and…if you noticed in both Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 the opening video/song, and the ending of the game’s graphics looked very realistic, but during game play they sort of went down to cartoon-like and I bet you that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be no diffrent, which means that Wii could probably hold the graphics. I dont know, I could be wrong.

It really surprising me how long this thread post has been supported by commnets. Especially since there really hasn’t been any new information that gives a solid answer to which console Kingdom Hearts will be coming out on.
I’ve been retooling this blog for a while making it more of a hub for the writing I’ve been doing online and more of a tech related blog. For Video Game news ( as well as Anime and Science Fiction content) I’ve started a new site most of you would be interested in. It’s called and if there is any new Kingdom Hearts news it’ll be posted there as soon as I hear anything.
But in the meantime where should be enough Wii content, as well as information on the other two consoles, there to hold you guys over for te time being.

T_T i bought a ps3 for the great games like MGS4 DMC4 FF13 and vs 13 and finnaly cause i believe that KH3 would be for ps3. I seen Wii’s they are ok a lil fun yer. But i wouldnt buy one. I bought a ps3 yes (almost having it on layby for like 8 months* But Wii gfx suck and i will be definately dissapointed and so will other true kh fans that dont have a Wii.

It think it will stay on the ps3, then after poor sales because of poor people, they will move it ATLEAST to the ps2, and then hopefully to the wii as well. I am a HUGE Kingdom Hearts fanboy, I own all three games and I’m buying a psp and ds so i can get their versions as well. I have a wii and ps2 so if it comes out on either of those systems I’m happy. If not, it looks like i’m gonna start saving up for a ps3… Anyway, I think this can happen because of the strong ties with both disney and square-enix. Besides, square-enix did get their start on a Nintendo system in the 1980’s with the first installment in the greatest video game franchise in history: Final Fantasy on the NES.
Just keep praying for crappy sales on ps3 you guys!!!
